SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY - My Soul to Keep

     After a short hiatus from Six Sentence Sunday, I am happy to be back. This go around I am posting six sentences from my ongoing weekly FREE read (a new installment every Wednesday) at Secret Cravings Publishing, entitled My Soul to Keep, an erotic contemporary paranormal (ghost). 
     In this snippet, Val is dealing with the ghost of the man she killed in the field (and subsequently left her for dead for a few moments) and who is now her nemesis of sorts.

     Val kicked the door shut behind her, not even bothering to turn the lights on. These days she wasn't afraid of the dark...she knew what lurked in the shadows.
      Tossing her canvas tote onto the chair, she walked towards the kitchen, lights from the street illuminating the interior of her apartment.
       It wouldn't kill you to turn a light on, the Port Newark ghost commented from the well-worn brown leather couch in the living room.
      Val ignored him. The last time he'd materialized, she noticed his appearance had changed somewhat; the bullet hole between the eyes still visible but not nearly as gruesome.

Hello all! It's time for Six Sentence Sunday and this is my second contribution. These six sentences are from Skin Deep as well and take place after Rick paints a stunning piece of body art on Emily. Hope you enjoy ...

Still shaken from the overt sexual reaction to his touch as well as the sight of the breathtaking canvas of her back, she let him guide her back to the table and help her up. With legs swinging nervously over the edge, she watched anxiously as he dipped the brush into the powder, tapping it against the side of the jar before returning to stand before her.

Her feet stilled as the brush swept over her breasts again and again until she lost herself in the resultant rush of heat, responding with a soft cry before stopping herself.

"God, Em…you're driving me crazy."

"I…I could say the same." Her voice caught and made a small noise that sounded almost like a purr.





SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY - Skin Deep

Hello all! First, thank you for stopping by today! This is my first attempt at Six Sentence Sunday. Be sure to check out the other writer's offerings!

Choosing the first six sentences to post wasn't easy, but this is from one of my favorite scenes in Skin Deep - Emily and Rick's first kiss which happens after an unexpected, and emotionally painful, run-in with her ex-fiance ...

"Don't…don't kiss me because you feel sorry for me," she said, her voice barely a ragged whisper.

 "I'm not about to kiss you because I feel sorry for you." His warm breath danced across her lips. 

This is what it should feel like…the earth shifting under your feet…butterflies in your stomach…heartbeat quickening…that shiver in your spine…a stirring deep within your very core?

When Rick slipped his arms around her waist, a shiver coursed through her as their bodies touched, now face to face, chest to chest, thigh to thigh. A slow heat simmered just under the surface and she wanted to feel more. Reaching up, she moved her hands through his hair before wrapping her arms around his neck, urging him closer, melting into him. 

1st ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY CONTEST IN HONOR OF OUR SERVICEMEN/WOMEN
